The external appearance of Soun Museum In February, 1968![]() this museum was built by Mr. Eitaro Suzuki who had collected and kept Soun's posthumous works and articles. Mr. Suzuki used his own savings to build the museum in order to open his collection of Soun's work to the public. The location of the museum is called "Hakusekisanbo" which is noted in connection with Soun. Then in April, 1968 Mr.Suzuki donated the museum to Ashikaga city. Inside the museum, besides the exhibition room there are rooms for his posthumous works and articles and rooms for the guests as well. |

The historic remain of Soun's residence In the garden there is a two-storied house with a thatched roof where Soun used to live during his life time. The name of the house is "Hakusekisanbo". Next to Hakusekisanbo there is a tea ceremony house. On the property it is so quiet that you can hear the birds chirping and you don't even realize the bustle of the city. The exhibition is arranged every two months and most of the exhibition is of Soun's works which belong to Soun Museum. |
